Listen to the full episode below:

Take a moment to think, what matters to me? What do I want to enjoy this holiday season? It may mean cutting things out or saying no to certain things.

This week we’re going to expand on the topic of self-care by giving you tips for looking forward. Our work and personal lives are typically next-level chaotic from the end of October through January due to the holiday season. Let’s be honest, we need to be proactive during these months and we’re going to tell you how to do just that. I’m just going to go ahead and say it, this episode is going to save people's lives. Are we being dramatic? Maybe, but maybe not.

One huge mistake you want to avoid during these late fall months is not leaving time in your calendar for the activities that are meaningful and bring you joy. It can feel overwhelming to fit it all in with all those days off and testing that needs to be done, but we promise that if you take our suggestions you will have time for those activities that both you and your students will enjoy. We recognize that it’s important to get tests graded and papers finished, but it’s just as important to celebrate these holidays and make traditions with each other.

Topics Covered:

  • Benefits of merging your work and personal calendars

  • Ways to prioritize activities that are meaningful to you

  • How to prevent yourself from doing work on the weekends
