SEPTEMBER 2022

I love love love this podcast.

I get such a kick out of these two podcasting, educating, humor-showing gals. Their humility and humor is refreshing, and I learn nuggets every time I listen. I wish I had found this blog sooner, but I am playing catch-up. Thanks so much, Marie and Amanda!

The best!

Amanda and Marie have helped renew my energy and excitement for teaching with their ideas, philosophy, and guests on the show. I stumbled upon this podcast a year ago and have been a faithful listener since. I am about to go through the Curriculum Rehab course, and I’m expecting great things. Thanks ladies, for being such an inspiration!

The Best Professional Development

I’ve been listening to the Brave New Teaching podcast for the last year and it has transformed my teaching. This is by far the best professional development I’ve ever engaged with. Marie and Amanda offer great insights and resources to help all teachers. There have been so many times when I’ve been wrestling with an idea in teaching and I’ve listened to a podcast episode and walked away with an idea and inspiration!

Your new teacher besties!

These girls are the PLC of your dreams! Fun, real, and passionate about what they do. Lots of “insta-teachers” have fun/pretty/Instagram-able ideas, but these girls focus on what is truly important- the learning! I have half my department hooked on these two. We planned our final unit for the year using the methods from the podcasts and their Curriculum Rehab program and HOLY COW! These juniors of mine are ENGAGED! Like “I was talking about what we did in class at work with another student and my boss,” engaged! They are AMAZING!!!

DECEMBER 2020

The PLC you always wanted

Amanda and Marie are the PLC partners you always wanted (I must admit, my two current PLCS are pretty awesome, but you know we’ve been in those PLCS where we all just watch the clock tick tick by until it’s safe to say “see you later”). The ladies bring in levity and a realness that often goes unsaid in education. Administrators and district office “thou shalt gurus” should listen to the the teachers in the trenches starting with Amanda and Marie. I love that I feel like I’m in on the conversation and can take strategies to my classroom often times the next day. The ladies don’t just discuss what is wrong in education, but how we can make real changes to our digital classrooms to make it better for all the stakeholders. I have participated in the Down with the Reading Quiz master class as well as purchased the Curriculum Rehab course as well. I will show up for this PLC each week with a smile on my face and a mirror so I can hold my self accountable with a laugh and a possible adult beverage. Cheers BNT here’s looking forward to 2021! #bestthingabout2020

Let me RAVE about BRAVE NEW TEACHING

I’ve been pickin’ up everything these women have been puttin’ down since I discovered them this summer. I’ve taken their free master class, Down with the Reading Quiz, as well as their full length course, Curriculum Rehab. I listen to this podcast religiously, often replaying episodes to squeeze every drop of intellectual juice out of them. I follow them on social media and search their stuff first on TpT. I’ve been an ELA teacher for 15 years and they are my new mentors. Amanda and Marie are inspiring and inclusive, fun and efficient, passionate and practical.

I wish we were coworkers!

Brave New Teaching is like sitting in the work room overhearing the rockstar teachers discuss their plans. I’ve picked up so many great ideas and snippets just from listening in to their incredible ideas and discussions. Keep up the great work!

Life-Changing

I am one to exaggerate, but I am not exaggerating when I say that Amanda and Marie have changed my life when it comes to teaching. I am in my 15th year of teaching middle and high school ELA, and I have learned SO much from these two educators. Do yourself a favor, and subscribe, and do all of the things they suggest. They are ELA wizards—the good kind. ♥️
