Unpopular Opinions: Teacher Edition Part 1 [S4 E82]

Listen to the full episode below:

Have you seen those “unpopular opinion” posts all over social media lately? There are so many different topics people have been sharing so we decided to get your feedback on your unpopular opinions about education.

After minutes of asking our listeners to share their unpopular opinions, Marie was FLOODED with responses. There were so many good ones that we decided to share them all with you in not one, but two episodes!

The responses our listeners shared were sometimes hilarious but there were also many that were thought provoking. They initiated discussions about topics such as which subject is most important to enforcing cell phone policies.

Although we both have a similar teaching style and outlook on teaching methods, we do not judge others for thinking differently than we do. Teaching is not black and white and in this episode we shared various perspectives on controversial opinions.

Topics Covered:

  • Amanda and Marie’s unpopular opinions about education

  • How to shift your mindset to decrease the pressure teachers put on themselves

  • Why we find it important to assess student skills, not recall

  • A detailed view on appropriate cell phone behavior
